Culturally led curriculum

Taught and guided by Elders, cultural advisors and Indigenous knowledge holders to prioritise:

  • Respectful transmission of language and culture

  • Authentic learning grounded in lived experience

  • Curriculum shaped by community needs and cultural authority

Structured Learning Pathways

We combine creative learning with academic structure to support real progress as our program use:

  • Phonetics, phonology, morphology and syntax

  • Conversational practice and storytelling

  • Creative writing, poetry and critical thinking

  • Remote Lectorials and Flexible Online Delivery

This mirrors a structured methodology where learning moves from sound systems to morphology and then to practical application. Students and tutors are encouraged to write and critical analyse language structures each semester. This focuses primarily on cultural transmission and written communication across Yumplatok, Kala Lagaw Ya and English.

Community, Identity and Connection

We believe learning is relational and our programs create safe spaces where students can:

  • Build confidence in creation stories and song sensory

  • Strengthen cultural identity

  • Learn alongside family and community Elders

  • Engage with Elders and community mentors

We currently offer two courses with more programs in development. Each course is designed to support learners at different stages of their creative or language journey, with a focus on cultural safety, high quality teaching, remote accessibility and linguistic growth.
